5 Best Alan Ritchson Movies and TV Shows You Need to See Now- Reacher and More

Alan Ritchson smiling

If you don’t know by now, Alan Ritchson is a rising star in Hollywood. His breakout role has undeniably come in Amazon’s Reacher, but he’s actually been around as an active actor since 2006.

The 40-year old has made his mark with a dominant physique and underrated acting chops, but he’s only getting started. In fact, he’ll be featured in Fast X next.

Wondering what Alan Ritchson movies and TV shows are worth your time? I’ve compiled a top five of my own that I think you’ll want to check out, starting with the role that launched him into borderline super stardom.

Reacher

This one should come as no surprise. Reacher is easily the best Alan Ritchson tv show you can find, despite it only being on Amazon for one reason so far.

Reacher gives Ritchson an amazing platform, and has allowed him to create instantly memorable scenes with an extremely tough and confident character.

Needless to say, he ends up delivering some epic scenes.

It’s coming back very soon, too, so you better get in your Reacher season 2 predictions while you can.

Here’s one great prediction; you’ll love this series. Ritchson gives us a legit Jack Reacher that mirrors what you can find in the legendary Lee Child books, and he even sprinkles in a little bit of his trademark charm and humor along the way.

Looking for a total badass who beats the odds every time? Reacher does the trick, and there’s more on the way.

Blue Mountain State

Want something a little different? You can witness one of Alan Ritchson’s funnier roles in Blue Mountain State. Here he plays Thad Castle, where he’s captain of a football team and is a truly wild character.

Ritchson is much younger and not quite as buff here, but he’s hilarious as the over-the-top jock.

This was arguably the first glance at his impeccable comedic timing, which was a little surprising given the physical attributes he brings to the table.

Titans

If you ever wonder how Alan Ritchson got the Reacher series, a quick look at his work in Titans will probably tell you all you need to know.

In the DC’s Titans, he plays Hawk, a member of a superhero team. Not shockingly, he’s known for his size, brute strength, toughness, and ability to fight.

He’s obviously no longer officially affiliated with the show due to his responsibilities with Reacher, but he won’t say no to a possible return.

Whether he ever comes back and plays Hawk again remains to be seen. What we do know is this is one of the best Alan Ritchson tv shows you can watch, and he definitely enjoyed his time on the series.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

A building block to Alan Ritchson’s acting career was undeniably a stop in The Hunger Games trilogy.

Jennifer Lawrence led the way in the iconic franchise, but Ritchson was a brief scene-stealer as a hulking and imposing threat along the way.

Ritchson’s stay in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire didn’t last long, but he was still a fearsome foe with good looks and deadly skills that caught the audience’s eye.

More importantly, this role got him major exposure. This Alan Ritchson movie is also just a fantastic sequel in a terrific franchise. While he wasn’t a major piece to the puzzle, it’s still a worthwhile watch for any die hard Ritchson fan.

Blood Drive

If you’re looking for good Alan Ritchson movies and tv shows to check out, I’ll leave you with 2017’s Blood Drive.

Some combination of his Titans role and his work in Blood Drive convinced Amazon that he’d crush the Reacher role; I’m sure of it.

This one has no issue getting super weird, of course. The series only lasted one season because it had the setting of a dystopian future where Ritchson is a cop forced to compete in “death races” where cars are fueled by actual blood.

Dear lord.

While Blood Drive was very over the top and didn’t last long, it did have an interesting premise and a pretty strong cast. Ritchson was certainly part of that, as he flexed his muscle and displayed his trademark grit and swagger.

Blood Drive won’t blow you away, but you do get to see 13 episodes of basically an alternate reality of a younger Reacher. Due to that, I can’t help but list it among the top Alan Ritchson tv shows and movies you need to watch.

I didn’t rank my favorite Alan Ritchson movies and tv shows necessarily.

Though, if I had, Reacher would hold the top spot.

I’ll also warn you that Blood Drive isn’t for everyone, and Ritchson also admittedly hasn’t had a very storied acting career to this point.

That said, he’s going to make some major noise going forward, and it’s always fun to go back and see actor’s past work. I’ll update this list as he adds to his resume, but if you’re looking for some good Alan Ritchson movies and shows, this should get you started.
