Genre-blending pop-rap star Machine Gun Kelly is admittedly most known for being with Mega Fox. It is hard for that to not be the case, but the guy is also a legitimate menace on the mic.
Machine Gun Kelly (aka Colson Baker) has some unsettling content in a lot (most?) of his songs, but he has hit track after hit track for a reason.
The guy can spit with the best of them, and his blend of raw lyrics and impressive speed make him a star that is tough to ignore.
Love him or hate him, Machine Gun Kelly is one talented dude. If you’re here to see what the best Machine Gun Kelly songs are – whether as a die hard fan or total newbie – I’ve got you covered.
5. I Think I’m OKAY
Let’s get my list of the top 5 Machine Gun Kelly songs started with a bang. I Think I’m OKAY gets a nice assist from UNGBLUD, while Blink 182’s Travis Barker also helps out on the drums.
You’re getting a nice fusion of punk and rap with this track, and like many of Machine Gun Kelly’s best songs, it sets itself afire with an infectious chorus you won’t be able to get out of your head.
4. Till I Die
Coming in one spot north of I Think I’m OKAY is Till I Die, which is easily one of the best Machine Gun Kelly songs in existence.
This song is a callback to MGK’s roots and serves as a rousing anthem for Cleveland natives – or just anyone pumped to represent their origins.
MGK leaves it all out there, peeling back the layers of his humble beginnings and hitting our ears with an aggressive, yet enthusiastic track.
3. Rap Devil
It takes some serious stones to step up to someone like Eminem. Machine Gun Kelly opted to do it in a very public forum; the internet.
A not so quiet response to Eminem’s diss track “Not Alike”, MGK goes the opposite route with the appropriately titled Rap Devil.
Machine Gun Kelly puts his trademark delivery and some pointed words out there for Eminem to swallow, and it’s hard not to include this song when thinking of tracks that made MGK famous.
2. Swing Life Away
Another great MGK song is Swing Life Away. It comes in at number two in my Machine Gun Kelly song rankings, but it has a real argument to own the top slot.
MGK teams up with Kellin Quinn of Sirens here, offering an acoustic and heartfelt collaboration.
There’s no denying that Machine Gun Kelly is known for his abrasive nature and hard-hitting, cutting lyrics. However, he shows a softer side with a more emotional track.
Due to it’s surprising impact – and how well it was done – it’s hard not to rank it highly.
1. Bloody Valentine
Checking in as the top MGK song ever made is Bloody Valentine.
It’s labeled as one of Machine Gun Kelly’s most successful tracks, having earned him wins at the MTV VMAs and crept into the top 5 in numerous prominent song charts.
MGK displays infectious energy, while Travis Barker’s drumming backs the singer up effortlessly.
Machine Gun Kelly pulls at the heart strings with some emotional depth and powerful lyrics. It’s not as soft as Swing Life Away, which is arguably the main reason it jumps to #1 for me.
Other Great Machine Gun Kelly Songs
- Bad Things
- Wild Boy
- Alpha Omega
Machine Gun Kelly has been at this for a while now. There are a ton of great MGK songs that could crack my top-5, and you could honestly stretch this out to a top 10 or top 20 list.
That said, I wanted to offer a list of the five best MGK tracks, and why you probably need to check them out.
Of course, narrowly missing the cut is Bad Things, which gets some nice help from the flawless Camila Cabello. There’s also Wild Boy, which is one of MGK’s catchier hits.
Alpha Omega is the one that nearly cracked my top 5 Machine Gun Kelly song rankings, however. It’s one of his more intense and powerful tracks, and it’s insanely memorable.
