It’s a right of passage; massive celebrity couples being so iconic that we can’t help but given them a nickname that matches their firepower.
Bennifer. Brangelina. Hell, Bennifer 2.
Nobody is above it, and the people handing out these celebrity nicknames seem to know no bounds.
I guess I’ll put myself in that group, too, because here I am on a Wednesday night, carving out a list of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce nickname ideas.
Some will be better than others, and you’re free to join in with your own ideas in the comments below.
However, with the superstar singer and NFL player officially dating, it’s high time we all agreed to an official Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce couple nickname.
Traylor
Are we being lazy and first just seeing which Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce nicknames sound good when their names are combined?
You better believe it.
Traylor obviously makes the word trailer, and we get a mix of Taylor and the beginning of Travis.
There are some people out there who don’t believe Kelce is of Swift’s caliber, either, with a former lover even calling the Kansas City Chiefs star our for cheating.
Is that an homage to Kelce being trailer trash?
I’m only kidding. This is probably the easiest and most basic Kelce and Swift couple nickname, but it at least gets the party started.
Tayvis
This is one I saw already when I did a quick search for already trending Swift & Kelce nicknames.
It’s not one of my favorites from the jump, but it again does combine components of both of their names.
It’s not super creative and doesn’t beat out Traylor if you ask me, but I’ll keep it in the running for now.
Swelce
Perhaps one of the best Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce couple nicknames is Swelce, which combines Swift and Kelce rather effortlessly.
If we’re only combining names to come up with a good Swift and Kelce nickname, this one may take the cake.
You obviously get a little bit of both names in there, but Swelce also comes off as a warped version of the word “swole”.
Considering Kelce is a buff footall player, the math checks out here. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a favorite for the best Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift couple nickname.
Taylor Swift’s Tight End
All credit for this one goes to my wife for this one. I kind of think (or am glad) it’d have to, as I’d be in for a few interesting questions if it came from my brain.
No, honey, I don’t have a thing for Swift’s butt.
Regardless, my wife makes a good point. This one is a play on words, as Swift’s full name is in it, it references her behind, and also gives kudos to the position her new footballer boyfriend plays.
I’m all for just combining names to form the best Swift and Kelce relationship nickname, but is there a better (or funnier) one than this?
The Kansas City Swiftle
Kelce plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, and we can pay some respect to some pretty cool lingo here in The Kansas City Shuffle.
It’s a classic con game where the person being conned believes they’re being conned and thinks they’ve figured out how to thwart the con. Unfortunately, they were right about being conned, but wrong about what the real con actually was.
We also see it used in the cult classic, Lucky Number Slevin.
On top of being a nice little play on words, we still can incorporate Swift’s name with just a mild reach. I also think it’s fairly fitting, seeing as a lot of people think this whole relationship is a farce.
TicK, TicK…Boom!
Now we’re probably trying too hard. I’ll be the first to admit coming up with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce relationship nicknames is a bit harder than it looks, of course.
Even so, this one actually sounds okay. Not only do we get the initials for Taylor and Kelce (T and K), but we get a catch phrase that applies to a song and even a movie.
The Boom part also applies to football, with the bruising Kelce laying the smack down with his size, strength, and general toughness.
You could also just look at this pairing as a ticking time bomb, and then this Swift & Kelce nickname would start to make sense in a hurry.
Team Red
Bare with me here, as this one – and perhaps a lot of other Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce nickname ideas – could stem from some of her music.
Feel free to peruse Taylor Swift’s best songs to come up with some more ideas, but her song “Red” is the driving force here.
Her new boyfriend plays for the Chiefs, who have red in their uniform and helmet. Like, a lot of it.
I know the material doesn’t exactly align, and that song certainly wasn’t about Kelce, but they’re now a team of sorts. Hey, I’m trying over here.
Kelcwifty
Last, but not least, is a return to the classic name mash-up.
This time, we’re starting things off with Kelce and we’re adding that trademark Swifty moniker to the end.
It goes together rather effortlessly, and in a very real way, Kelce has now become the leader of the Swifties.
Is it dumb? Sure, but so was a group of Swift fans calling themselves Swifties in the first place.
Okay, that’s it. I’m mercifully calling it quits on my endeavour to field a list of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift couple nicknames.
